Programs

The Elgin Library offers a wide variety of programming. There is something for everyone!

Check out these popular programs:

Preschool Story Hour: Held each Wednesday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Open to kids ages 3 to 5 who are potty trained. Stories, games, music, crafts, and more!

After School Clubs: Held each Wednesday from 2:30-4:00. Open to kids in grades K-6th grade.  A free snack is always served, and donations of these are always welcome! Registration for Clubs is required so stop by to register any time!

Summer Reading Program: Register in May and then attend 4 programs in June and July to keep kids reading and learning all summer! We have fun and incentives each time! Don't forget to register beginning in May.

Outreach to Valley Elementary: Library Lisa visits Valley Elementary, part of the NFV school district approximately every 3 weeks to share stories and check out books to students. Ask for a library number for your child if he or she doesn't have one. This is a free service.

Adult programming: We offer a variety of adult programming throughout the year! Movie Days are one or two afternoons per month, and we also schedule speakers and have classes on a rotating basis. Click here to see what is coming up! Let us know what you would like to see at the library!

Valley Writers Group: This group meets every 3rd Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. to share their writings on a particular topic. Stop by the library for a schedule, or just drop by the group! New members are always welcome!

Valley Book Club: This lively discussion group meets every 3rd Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the library to discuss preselected titles in varying genres. This year's list of titles is available by clicking here or by stopping by the library!
